President of the United States, Donald Trump announced early this morning that he and his wife, Melania has tested positive for COVID-19.  This new development is coming one day after the first Presidential Debate with Joe Biden.

Trump tweeted shortly before 1 AM EST: “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

In a communique issued to reporters by the President’s physician at the Whitehouse, Navy Cmdr. Dr Sean Conley, he wrote that the COVID-19 test results he received on behalf of the President on Thursday evening were positive.

Conley wrote: “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence. The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions.”

Some members of the President’s inner sanctum like Hope Hicks had earlier contracted the coronavirus and it’s believed she exposed the President and his wife to it.

First Lady, Melania Trump tweeted shortly after the President’s tweet earlier this morning saying she and the President were “feeling good”
